![]() ![]() I can’t find the quote right now, but at one point Haley says something like, “What you have had me do, slide over and welcome my husband’s girlfriend into our bed?” Like it or not, sometimes there are few options for women like Haley…like me…and as Christians we need to extend grace. Oh, they know the meaning of grace, but they certainly don’t extend it. Very often Christians look down their noses at those who are divorced…judging, condemning. As a Christian who has been divorced, I could relate to Haley’s pain. Nevertheless, she is unjustly judged by at least two characters (and probably several readers). ![]() ![]() Haley didn’t want this divorce and was committed to her marriage and her man. The thing I most appreciated about The Trophy Wives Club is that Billerbeck honestly shows what divorce looks like from the inside. I was transported to a lifestyle with which I’m much less familiar and it was fun. If you are looking for chic lit that isn’t like every other chic lit you’ve ever read, then this is the book for you. This weekend I took time to rest, refresh, and READ! My poor husband was planning a romantic time away and I kept pulling out The Trophy Wives Club. ![]()
